David Pepper
Leadership & Cultural Guru
Born in London, David spent the first 20 years of his career working firstly with Grand Metropolitan Plc & then Whitbread Plc where he ended up as Retail Director for countryside dining.
In 2000 he set up a training company that focused on supporting the hospitality industry, particularly around leadership and motivation of individuals and teams. Having operated his training business for 8 years, David was asked to join the Government’s Hospitality Skills Academy as part of hospitality’s preparation for the London Olympics.
In 2011 he re-joined the World of commerce as People Director with the La Tasca Restaurants group for a turnaround project that completed with a successful sale in 2016.
Since 2016 David has spent time developing his ‘Emotional Balance’ theory, which examines the relationship between leaders, their people, and the optimisation of performance. This has since been used by Board’s and Exec’s to help improve experience, engagement, and attrition within their companies.
He has taken up NED positions, whilst also taking time to mentor people in various roles. He also has a key role with the development of a wellbeing measurement programme, focussing on improvement for the individual working within organisations.
David’s also oversees the development of the ‘Learning Factor’, the training arm of the People Factor, ensuring the programmes are focussed on the challenges of today’s working World.
Loves Rugby and has the role of Club Coaching Coordinator at his local club, Maidenhead RFC.
